A crown is a restoration that covers (or caps) a tooth to restore
it to its normal shape and size. You should consider crown work
if you need to:
•
strengthen or improve the appearance of a tooth
•
support a large filling when there isn’t enough natural
tooth remaining
•
keep weak teeth form fracturing, restore fractured teeth,
or use it as a bridge abutment
A constructed bridge is a popular option to fill
in the space between one or more missing teeth. In this case, your
natural teeth on
either end of the span, which would serve as abutments, would be
filed down and crowned. The false tooth (called a pontic) or teeth
would be attached to those newly crowned teeth. Another alternative
for missing teeth includes implants.
Our crowns and bridges are always made from superior materials:
gold or a combination of porcelain and gold. We take into account
both function and esthetics when selecting the material most suitable
for you.
If missing teeth are not a problem for you, but you still want
to improve teeth for cosmetic reasons, veneers are the answer.
Veneers are custom-made porcelain shells that are permanently bonded
directly to the front surface of your teeth. If you have spaces
between any of your front teeth, permanently stained or discolored
teeth, or old discolored or stained fillings, we can correct this
by giving them a normal and natural look by applying veneers.
