“There are three levels of dental implants offered today: low-, medium- and high-quality. There are approximately four or five high-quality companies that have established excellent quality craftsmanship and excellent quality component in the dental implant industry. The very best of those is the leader in the world, which is known as Nobel Biocare, the only company I work with. Low-quality implants are cheap with no validity or long-term statistical analysis of success.
"Many of the high-quality implant companies all charge a similar fee for the best implants. The medium-quality implants are approximately 50 percent of the cost compared to high-quality implants. The cheap implants can be as little as $97 each from foreign countries. This may sound appealing, but many patients have no understanding of what they are receiving in terms of the quality of manufacturing of the implant itself, or of the experience and capabilities of the doctor placing that implant.”
