Types of Dental Implants

At River Valley Advanced Dental & Implant Center, serving Billings, MT, and Boise, ID, Dr. David Casagrande provides different implant supported options to restore function, comfort, health, and aesthetics to your smile. Our patients can receive traditional implants, All-on-4 or zygomatic implants, depending on their unique needs and goals.

Your Options

The type of dental implant recommended for you will depend on several factors, including how many teeth need to be replaced, the type of restoration you desire, and the quantity and quality of your jawbone. Dr. Casagrande offers:

  • Traditional dental implants: These implants are placed vertically in the jaw. They can be used alone to replace a single lost tooth in conjunction with a dental crown, or in multiples to support a larger restoration such as a dental bridge, partial denture, or a full denture.
  • All-on-4 dental implants: This treatment restores an entire arch of teeth using only four implants and a final restoration. The All-on-4 technique can be used on either the upper jaw, lower jaw, or both. If you have suffered a significant degree of jaw atrophy, this option can allow you to receive implants without having to receive a bone graft. This technique utilizes the two implants in the front of the jaw placed vertically, the two back implants are placed at angles to maximize surface contact with the available bone tissue. This positioning can allow the implants to provide the necessary support while avoiding anatomical limitations like your sinus or nerve.
  • Dental bridges on dental implants: This treatment uses implants to support dental bridges, replacing an entire dental arch. During the first visit, implants will be placed. A temporary restoration will be utilized during a three-month healing period. When the implants have integrated, the final bridges will be attached.

As Dr. Casagrande's patient, you can expect to be educated about every treatment option so that you can make an informed decision and experience the most satisfying results possible.

Nobel Biocare® Implants

Dr. Casagrande uses Nobel Biocare® implants, the highest-quality dental implants on the market. Although these implants cost more than other "bargain" options, Dr. Casagrande only uses Nobel Biocare because they offer the greatest likelihood of long-term success.
