Types of Dental Implants
At River Valley Advanced Dental & Implant Center, serving Billings MT, Fargo ND, and Boise ID, Dr. David Casagrande provides different types of dental implants to restore function, comfort, health, and aesthetics to your smile. Our patients can receive traditional implants, All-on-4@, or 3-on-6 implants, depending on their unique needs and goals.
The type of dental implant recommended for you will depend on several factors, including how many teeth need to be replaced, the type of restoration you desire, and the health of your jawbone. Dr. Casagrande offers:
- Traditional dental implants: These implants are placed vertically in the jaw. They can be used alone to replace a single lost tooth in conjunction with a dental crown, or in multiples to support a larger restoration such as a dental bridge, partial denture, or a full denture.
- All-on-4 dental implants: This treatment restores an entire arch of teeth using only four implants and a fixed denture. All-on-4 can be used on either the upper jaw, lower jaw, or both. If you have suffered a small degree of jaw atrophy, this option can allow you to receive implants without having to receive a bone graft. This is because while the two implants in the front of the jaw are vertical, the two back implants are placed at angles to maximize surface contact with the available bone tissue. This positioning can allow the implants to provide the necessary support even if some bone atrophy has taken place.
- 3-on-6 dental implants: This treatment uses six implants to support three dental bridges, replacing an entire dental arch. During the first visit, six implants will be placed. A temporary denture will be utilized during a three-month healing period. When the implants have integrated, the final bridges will be attached.
As Dr. Casagrande's patient, you can expect to be educated about every treatment option so that you can make an informed decision and experience the most satisfying results possible.
Nobel Biocare® Implants
Dr. Casagrande uses Nobel Biocare® implants, the highest-quality dental implants on the market. Although these implants cost more than other "bargain" options, Dr. Casagrande only uses Nobel Biocare because they offer the greatest likelihood of long-term success.
What Type of Dental Implant is Right for Me?
No two patients are the same. As a result, the right type of implant is different for every individual. During your initial consultation, Dr. Casagrande can discuss your treatment options with you in detail. As Dr. Casagrande's patient, you can expect to be fully educated about every treatment option so that you can make an informed decision and experience the most satisfying results possible.
